About UBF
University Bible Fellowship is a non-denominational, mainline campus organization dedicated to the task of raising disciples for Jesus Christ. To this end, UBF members teach the Bible to college students and urge young people to live according to the teachings of the Scriptures. This includes obeying Jesus' Great Commission to go into all the world and make disciples. By training leaders and sending out some 1300 lay missionaries, University Bible Fellowship has spread to around 82 nations over the last 40 years. There are UBF chapters at some 50 colleges in the United States.
University Bible Fellowship was founded in Korea in 1961 by co-founders Dr. Samuel Lee (1931-2002) and Sarah Barry. Samuel Lee was a young minister in Kwangju. Sarah Barry was serving as a missionary of the US Presbyterian Church. They found the students of Korea in turmoil after the Korean War and the division of the country. To plant faith in the despairing young people, they led group and one-to-one Bible studies on various campuses, and encouraged young believers to teach others what they learned.
